Stewards of the Ocean

Youth Inspiring Youth for Conservation through Cinematic Narratives

The future of conservation can only continue with the involvement of the next generation.  Youth inspiring Youth is just what it sounds like. It’s a project where young people want to inspire other young people to get involved in conservation and outreach.

As part of the Wild Lens internship program, we are collaborating with Chloe Carothers-Liske, an aspiring conservationist and filmmaker.

“Many of my earliest memories are tied to wilderness and river trips I took as a very young child with my family. Participating in a series of film classes at Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco got me excited about building stories with video, and now that my academic interest in biology and environmental issues has led me to the Marine Mammal Center’s Youth Crew, I am focused on documenting my journey. I want to share what it is like to work with community volunteers, other students to rescue and rehabilitate seals and sea lions and I hope that my work will inspire youth and adults alike to become involved in their communities as stewards of the oceans and the wilderness. That’s why I am teaming up with Wild Lens.”

Conservation is about the now and the tomorrow.
